Privacy policy
This site exists to answer your questions about culinary study at BHMS. We collect the minimum needed to do that — here is exactly what, where and for how long. Last updated 19 July 2026.
Who we are
This website is operated by BHMS Business & Hotel Management School (Swiss Culinary Academy by BHMS), Guetschstrasse 2-6, CH-6003 Lucerne, Switzerland. For anything related to your personal data, email admission@bhms.ch.
What we collect, and why
If you send an enquiry through the application form on this site, we ask for your name, email address, phone number and the programme you are interested in. We use this information for one purpose: responding to your enquiry and guiding you through admission if you choose to apply. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing lists.
If you never submit the form, browsing this site requires no personal data from you.
Where your data is processed
The site is hosted on Netlify, which also stores form submissions on our behalf as part of its hosting service. Netlify processes this data under its own privacy and data-processing terms.
If you choose to contact us via the WhatsApp links on this site, your chat runs through WhatsApp (Meta) and is governed by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. Only start a WhatsApp conversation if you are comfortable with that — email works just as well.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use this site — which pages are read, which links are clicked, and whether an enquiry was started. It helps us improve the site; it is not used for advertising.
Analytics runs under Google Consent Mode, and what happens before you choose depends on where you are:
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: nothing is stored until you agree. All storage is denied by default. Choose OK on the banner and analytics cookies are set; choose No thanks and they never are.
- Elsewhere (for example the United States, Canada and Mexico, where prior consent is not required for basic analytics), analytics is on by default and the banner is an opt-out: choose No thanks and we switch it off straight away and remember that choice.
Either way your choice is remembered in your browser, applies on every later visit, and can be reset at any time through your browser's site-data settings.
IP addresses are anonymised. We do not sell or share analytics data, and advertising and personalisation signals stay switched off. The same measurement is used across this site and summercampswitzerland.com, so a visit that moves between the two is counted once rather than twice.
How long we keep enquiries
We keep enquiry data for as long as we need it to handle your enquiry and any resulting admission process. After that, it is deleted.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) — and the GDPR, where it applies to you — you can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email admission@bhms.ch and we will act on your request.
